Foster homes are needed in our outlying areas as well so we have expanded to include homes in the Carson, Minden, Fernley, and Fallon areas.  If you are in these areas and want information regarding becoming a foster parent just call our office at 1-775-825-9995.  We will schedule a one-on-one orientation in your home to discuss our program and explain what the process looks like to become a licensed foster parent.

Meet Tawney, Our Nevada Program Director

During the orientation, we encourage you to ask as many questions as you would like.  Once you decide that becoming a foster parent with Mountain Circle is right for you and your family, you will be given our application and will be guided in completing paperwork and all requirements.  We provide 40 hours of pre-licensure training allowing you to gain valuable parenting skills, learn Mountain Circle’s policies and procedures, and gain a better understating of the children we serve.  During this time you are able to get to know other families who are becoming licensed Mountain Circle foster parents, allowing you to build connections and support groups.  The last step of the process is participating in a home study.  This is where our agency really gets to know you, understand your background, and learn what children would thrive best in your home.  During the process of becoming a licensed foster home, Mountain Circle staff helps ensure that your home is in compliance and meets licensing standards.

Once you are licensed we do our best to make quality matches between children and foster homes as our goal is to have long-term placements providing stability and not have children moving from home to home. The last step of the process is participating in a home study.  This is where our agency really gets to know you, understand your background, and learn what children would thrive best in your home.  During the process of becoming a licensed foster home, Mountain Circle staff helps ensure that your home is in compliance and meets licensing standards.
