Welcome to the Mountain Circle foster care and adoption family!!

Nathan and Jeannette always knew they wanted to become foster and/or adoptive parents (now called Resource Families in California). They also knew the statistics- there are over 60,000 children in foster care in California, and in Butte County, where they live, there are over 500 children and youth in care. They had the extra room in their home, and a lot of love to give.  They were ready to pick up the phone.

.

Nathan and Jeannette had a lot of questions- how does a family start the process? How long does it take? Where do the children come from, and what is a Resource Parent’s role in the children’s future?

.

.

They met with our staff at Mountain Circle Family Services in Chico, and we fell in love with them immediately.  Jeannette says “we’ve always felt called to do this.” Our staff answered their questions and explained the process of moving forward.  About two months later, we certified them as a Mountain Circle Resource Family.

How do we know they will make great foster (Resource) parents? This family is full of love, energy, and FUN!! A typical weekend might find them in Bidwell Park, or sailing on Shasta Lake. They also enjoy attending church, going to museums and the farmers market, or to a local baseball game- where Nathan even serves as the Mascot!

.

.

Any child in their home will never be bored, that is for sure! They state their family strengths are “communicating with integrity, lots of love, and good senses of humor.” They are proud to be part of a culturally diverse community, and have the strength and support of many close friends.

Nathan and Jeannette have been married for nearly 20 years. They have traveled all around the world, but have returned to one of the greatest towns on earth for raising children: Chico, California. As a family, they look forward to sharing new adventures with any foster child placed with them!

From the staff and volunteers of Mountain Circle, WELCOME!

We will be with you every step of the way!!
