A Small Boston Qualifying Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K
Running with the Bears™ is a unique and amazing rural experience. Enjoy incredible views of the Sierra Mountains, Aid Stations every 4 miles all competing for your vote, and a sweet after party at the finish line while you sip on an ice cold local brew. No over crowded starting line or jam-packed packet pick up! Running with the Bears is everything a running event should be- inspiring running in a beautiful place!
Entry fee includes a participation gift (a tech t-shirt), a goody bag packed with actual donated products from at least 20 different brands, a finisher medal for ALL runners, age division (10 yrs. deep) and overall division awards.
This course follows a rolling/flat country road at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, 2-hours from Reno, 3-hours from Sacramento, and 4.5-hours from the Bay Area.
START TIMES: Marathon: 6:30 a.m., Half Marathon: 7:15 a.m., 10K: 8:00 a.m.
Strollers/Dogs/Children/Earphones: This is Plumas County, and of course, you can bring them! Just please, have the dogs leashed (with non-retractable leashes), the kids supervised, and one eye open for rogue tractors. *DUE TO INSURANCE REASONS, all dogs must wear a soft muzzle at the start line, and on Mountain Circle property (packet pick up and the after party). Do you need childcare? We offer it! Contact Emily for more information!
We hope you will join us for the Post-Race Party following the race from 3-5pm at the start/finish line! This year we will offer an amazing BBQ dinner (vegetarian option available), bar, live band with plenty or space for dancing and pool to soak your feet in!
We are proud to be one of the few Boston Qualifiers where 100% of proceeds support children and youth in foster care served by Mountain Circle! Running with the Bears is managed entirely by Mountain Circle staff, volunteers, and foster families, and is the largest fundraiser for our organization.
