Mountain Circle Seeks Transitional Housing Program Director

Mountain Circle Family Services is seeking a Director for our Foster Youth Transitional Housing Program in Lassen and Plumas Counties. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits; including health, dental, vision, vacation, and sick time. An applicant should be prepared to live or relocate to Susanville, California. Compensation: $40,000 year salary. 

This program recognizes that young adults who are emerging from the foster care system need to continue learning Independent Living Skills in order to become healthy and stable adults. Foster youth participants have the opportunity to gain valuable life-skills, while experiencing the greatest amount of freedom possible. Mountain Circle’s THP program facilitates this smooth transition for young adults while offering support, training, and guidance.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Perform social work duties in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate all intakes.

  • Marketing and positive public relations.  Making presentations to surrounding counties.

  • Ensure all tracking forms are done and submitted to the John Burton Foundation.

  • Ensure that Progress towards goals on each participant are sent to the county at the end of each month.

  • Attend THP and THP-Plus trainings.

  • Develop goals for each participant and track progress, meeting weekly with each participant

  • Case management documentation on each participant.

  • Provide trainings to participants on Independent Living Skills.

  • Coordinate monthly trainings on-site.

  • Must be willing to be in the on-call rotation.

  • Must be available to work the Running with the Bears Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K the week of August 19th 2017.

  • Willing to use vehicle for work.

Requirements:
– Ability to pass a criminal background check (Child Abuse Index, DOJ and FBI)
– Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
– Work well under pressure, stress and changing job duties.
– Have a safe, reliable and insured vehicle for use on the job.
– Able to provide letters of reference.
– Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related field preferred.
