What is Mountain Circle
Mountain Circle is a private nonprofit
corporation, established in July 1985 for fostering healthy family relationships.
Mountain Circle is a treatment level agency that
recruits, trains and supports foster families.
We then contract with surrounding counties to
place foster children in these homes.
Mountain Circle is committed to finding
permanent families for children in care. We
received our adoption license in California in
2001.
Additional programs, that make Mountain
Circle a unique and exciting agency to be a
part of include: Family picnics, holiday
gatherings, adoption ceremonies. These programs
have been funded through grants and private
donations.
How to become a
Licensed Foster Parent
1. Call the Reno Mountain Circle office at
(775) 825-9995 and tell them you are
interested in becoming a foster parent.
We will schedule an orientation and
provide you with an initial application
and other paper work.
2. Begin attending your 40-hours of
pre-licensing training offered by
our Agency.
3. You will need to have a criminal background
clearance on every adult in the
home and have references checked on
all care providers over the age of 18.
4. Complete all required forms and paper
work.
5. Obtain a current First Aid/CPR
certificate.
Once you have completed these
simple steps:
1. A Mountain Circle social worker will
schedule your home study.
2. A County/State Foster Care Licensing
Worker will review your file and
complete your home inspection.
3. You will receive your final approval
and your license from the County or
State Foster Care Licensing Department
